These are one of my family's favorite Christmas traditions. I make these cinnamon rolls the day before and bake them off Christmas morning for us to enjoy. The house fills with a delicious seasonal scent.

  • Step 5 Add one packet of instant yeast and let sit for one minute.
  • Step 6 Add 3 1/2 cups of flour to milk and yeast mixture. Mix until fully incorporated.

  • Step 12 Spread leaving a 1/2 border.
  • Step 13 Start with the side furthest away from you and start rolling dough. Start from one side working left to right in a horizontal pattern. Keep dough tight.

  • Step 19 Pour icing generously over rolls. Enjoy nice and warm!
  • Step 20 For Filling
  • Step 21 Mix granulated sugar, butter, and cinnamon together by hand until it is spreadable. Butter must be at room temperature to incorporate well.
  • Step 22 For Icing
  • Step 23 Mix confectioner’s sugar, butter, vanilla, and salt together. Add milk a little at a time while stirring. You made need more or less of the 1/4 cup. You want the consistency to be pourable but not super runny. For variations try using maple syrup or coffee instead of milk. You can also use orange juice with the zest of an orange for a fresher flavor.
