Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread

This easy homemade pumpkin bread is soft, moist, and full of chocolate chips. You can make it in an electric mixer or add the ingredients to one bowl and incorporate them by hand. Perfect to enjoy during the crisp fall season.
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon molasses
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 heaping cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
- For Topping:
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon sugar mixture
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Directions
- Step 1 Preheat the oven to 350F. Spray a 9×5 loaf pan with cooking spray.
- Step 2 In a large bowl combine the dry ingredients and mix with a spoon.
- Step 3 In an electric mixer or another bowl combine the wet ingredients.
- Step 4 Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until fully incorporated. Make sure to scrape down sides of the bowl.
- Step 5 Add the mini chocolate chips and mix well.
- Step 6 Pour batter into greased loaf pan and bake for 45 minutes.
- Step 7 Remove and top with melted butter and cinnamon and sugar mixture.
- Step 8 Bake another 5 minutes or until top is golden brown and toothpick comes out clean.
- Step 9 Remove and place pan on a wire rack to cool for at least 20 minutes before turning it out.
