Every year we get together with friends or family to carve pumpkins so I know there will be glowing jack-o-lanterns around our home. To make them last longer, I like to place them on the front porch where it is cooler. So to prepare for the pumpkins I add a few decorative ones that will add to my existing fall decor. I found reasonable priced battery operated candles that have timers which make it safe and efficient for lighting up the entry way. By adding a few simple touches to the existing mums and asters it changes the fall scene to a Halloween scene. As soon as our pumpkins are carved, I’ll mingle them in between with the fake ones and put the same type of battery candles in them for a warm and autumnal welcome for our guests.
