Want a way to fragrant your home in a natural way? Make your home smell like the quintessential fragrances of the fall and winter seasons. This is also the perfect homemade gift to give your guests to thank them for coming to your home. Let these real autumnal ingredients simmer over your stove top and bring back memories of baked pies and holiday traditions.
Ingredients
- For one 12 ounce jar:
- 4 tablespoons dried cranberries
- 3 to 4 whole nutmeg
- 4 to 5 cinnamon sticks
- 3 to 4 dehydrated orange slices
- 2 tablespoon all-spice
- 1 heaping tablespoon cloves
Directions
- Step 1 Start with a 12 ounce glass jar. There is no right or wrong way to put items in jar. Esthetically I think this looks nice when giving this as a gift.
- Step 2 Place all-spice in the bottom of the jar.
- Step 3 Pour dried cranberries over them.
- Step 4 Add nutmeg and cloves.
- Step 5 Nestle the cinnamon sticks in and tuck dehydrated oranges behind them.
- Step 6 Add water to a pot and bring to a simmer. Be sure to keep your pot uncovered over low heat.
- Step 7 You may reuse for 2-3 days. Keep refilling the water every few hours as needed.
- Step 8 (When making at home you may wish to add apple slices, a teaspoon of real vanilla extract, or a dash of pumpkin pie spices in addition to the potpourri.)
