Tired of your oatmeal raisin cookies? Switch it up with this butterscotch version. Try these oatmeal cookies packed with butterscotch morsels, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Soft and chewy on the inside, crispy on the outside.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 11 ounce package of butterscotch morsels
Directions
  • Step 1 Beat shortening, sugars, egg, water and vanilla together until creamy.
  • Step 2 Combine flour, salt, baking soda and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  • Step 3 Add to creamed mixture
  • Step 4 Blend well.
  • Step 5 Stir in oats.
  • Step 6 Stir in butterscotch morsels. Mix well until all is incorporated.
  • Step 7 Refrigerate at least an hour.
  • Step 8 Form into teaspoon size balls. Place onto greased cookie sheets.
  • Step 9 Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Step 10 Enjoy!
