- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon water
- Optional - 2 tablespoons Everything Bagel Seasoning and 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Directions
- Step 1 Heat the oven to 375°F and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Step 2 Sprinkle work surface with 1/4 cup of the cheese.
- Step 3 Sprinkle work surface with 1 tablespoon Everything Bagel Seasoning and 1/2 tablespoon red pepper flakes.
- Step 4 Using a rolling pin, roll the pastry out into 1/8-inch thick and into a 8″ x 10″ rectangle.
- Step 5 Whisk egg and tablespoon of water together. Brush one side of puff pastry with egg mixture.
- Step 6 Flip egg brushed puff pastry side down onto the cheese and seasonings.
- Step 7 Use rolling pin to press dough into cheese and seasonings.
- Step 8 Brush dry puff pastry with egg wash and sprinkle with remaining cheese and seasonings. Take rolling pin and press cheese into dough.
- Step 9 Using a pizza wheel or knife cut puff pastry into 1 inch strips.
- Step 10 Twist each strip in the opposite direction giving it a spiral look as you place them onto the baking sheets, spaced an inch or so apart. Gently press the ends into the parchment to make them stick.
- Step 11 Bake for 10 minutes. Flip them over and bake for another 2 to 5 minutes until golden.
- Step 12 Remove and let cool. Serve or store in an air-tight container.
