Simple Sockeye Salmon

Sockeye salmon is flavorful and rich. It has a relatively high fat content, loaded with omega-3 fatty acids. It is not like the common pink salmon which is also delicious but sometimes needs a few more ingredients to enhance it's flavor. I like to highlight the natural taste of Sockeye salmon. This recipe is incredibly simple and makes a healthy and delicious meal.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs fresh Sockeye salmon
- Lemon - cut into thin round slices
- Butter
- Kosher Salt
- Fresh Ground Pepper
Directions
- Step 1 Place salmon on a tin foiled baking sheet. (skin side down)
- Step 2 Sprinkle salt and pepper on fish.
- Step 3 Place slices of lemon on top of fish. (4 or 5 slices)
- Step 4 Place small tabs of butter in between the slices of lemon.
- Step 5 Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes depending on the thickness of the fish.
- Step 6 You know the salmon is ready when you can take a fork and flake the flesh easily along the white lines (that is the natural fat) that run across the fillet.
