These generously stuffed baked apples have all the great taste of apple crisp but baked into your favorite apple. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream it's the perfect fall dessert.

Ingredients
  • 8 medium size apples - scoop top and center out, removing seeds but making sure not to put a hole in the bottom.
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup quick cooking or old- fashioned oats
  • 1 stick butter - cubed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup apple cider
Directions
  • Step 1 Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Step 2 Using a melon baller or small spoon remove apple core and a small amount of apple flesh. You want room to scoop ingredients into it. Make sure not to put hole in bottom.
  • Step 3 Place apples in a baking pan and set aside.
  • Step 4 In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon, nutmeg. Mix together.
  • Step 5 Add cubed butter to mixture and combine using a fork or your hands until it forms into pea size pieces creating the crisp.
  • Step 6 Using a small scoop place crisp mixture into each of the apples packing it down as you go. Fill all the apples.
  • Step 7 Pour cider into the bottom of the baking pan.
  • Step 8 Bake in oven for 40 minutes or until apples are tender.
