Grown-Up Carmel Apples

Carmel apples are a great idea for a fall dessert. Sliced into wedges you and your friends can enjoy this delicious treat packed with the ripeness of this seasonal fruit and over the top garnishes!

Ingredients
- 4 large apples - Mutsu are perfect for these
- 2 50 count bags of creamy caramel candies
- 2 tablespoons evaporated milk
- 2 70% cocoa chocolate bars
- 2 milk chocolate bars
- 1 white chocolate bar
- Toppings of your choice - I suggest: chopped pistachios, chopped pumpkin spiced almonds, toasted coconut chocolate caramels, Prosecco cordials, sea salt
- Parchment paper
- Wooden dowel
Directions
- Step 1 Wash and dry apples
- Step 2 In a double boiler melt caramels with evaporated milk until they are a creamy consistency.
- Step 3 Put wooden dowel into top of apple.
- Step 4 Dip apples into caramel, spreading with spoon all over apples.
- Step 5 Place on parchment paper and refrigerate at least 30 minutes allowing caramel to set.
- Step 6 Once caramel has set on apples, melt chocolate bars in a double boiler until smooth.
- Step 7 Drizzle over caramel apples. Alternating between chocolate flavors.
- Step 8 Add toppings of your choice while chocolate is still warm.
- Step 9 Refrigerate an hour to overnight.
- Step 10 You can make these in advance and they should last 3 days in the refrigerator.
- Step 11 Slice into wedges and serve. Enjoy!
